The Bounce Departments Rules and Regulations of Hire
In order for your day to go without a hitch The Bounce Department would appreciate you taking the time to familiarise yourself with our rules and regulations which are there to maximise your enjoyment whilst minimising your chance of anything untoward happening:
PRIOR TO YOUR HIRE:
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH SPACE FOR YOU INFLATABLES; We need at least 3ft of free space at the front of the inflatable as well as 3ft at the back of your inflatable for the Safety mats and blower. We also require 1ft at each side for staking and for safety reasons. Also please make sure there is sufficient height for our Inflatables especially in halls. If you have ANY concerns about the space and access you have available please call or email us at your earliest convenience so that we can ensure the day goes without a hitch. Please understand providing sufficient access is the customers responsibility and failure to provide us with sufficient access can result in us being unable to service your booking and no offer of a refund or reschedule....so lets make sure we get it right before the day ;)
PLEASE ENSURE WE HAVE SUFFICIENT ACCESS; either down the side of your house or through the building. Please understand it is the customers responsibility to ensure we have sufficient access. Of course we are on the end of the phone and will always want to make sure prior to turning up that the equipment can fit; so if you do have any concerns please get in touch. Failure to provide us with sufficient access will result in us being unable to service the booking with no offer of refund or reschedule.
NO ARTIFICIAL GRASS OR HARDSTANDING. I am afraid we do NOT hire on Artificial Grass or Hard standing; only on real grass or indoors. For us to do a proper job and comply with the Regulations that govern all that we do, as well as complying with the terms set out for our insurance we must peg down our inflatables without question. Unfortunately this means no hires on artificial grass or hard standing. Some Companies may weigh down the inflatables on hard standing however; please make sure they comply with regs by using 163kgs per anchor point or drilling and bolting the inflatables down. Due to the significant amount of weight required to comply we do not offer this as an option and stick purely to grass hires or in halls.
PLEASE ENSURE ACCESS IS CLEAR FOR DELIVERY AND COLLECTION: When our Delivery Crew arrive on site please make sure access is clear and free from obstruction to the set up area. Failure to provide clear access can result in a refusal to deliver. It is NOT the responsibility of the Delivery Crew to help with any clearing and tidying of access and we will not have allowed time for them to do so. If the Crew decide to refuse delivery this would also result in no offer of reschedule or refund.
ACCESS TO MAINS POWER. The Bounce Dept requires access to mains power within a distance of 45 meters from the set up location. If mains power is not available within this range, the customer must provide a generator to power the equipment. It is the Customers responsibility to provide access to power and is essential for the proper functioning of the equipment and to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Failure to provide this will result in a refusal of the set up with no refund or reschedule offered.
DURING YOUR HIRE:
- Please ensure all users remove any footwear prior to using the inflatable.
- Please keep all glass items away from the inflatable.
- No food or drinks is to be allowed on any of the equipment.
- No silly string or confetti to be allowed on the inflatables.
- No one under the influence of alcohol or drugs are to use the inflatables.
- Use of the inflatables is to be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
- Once the castle is erected it is not to be moved for safety reasons.
- If the castle is muddy on collection we reserve the right to apply a cleaning charge of £25-£50. Soapy water/baby wipes makes a good cleaner but please ensure we collect it in the same state that it was delivered.
- The hired equipment must be fully supervised at all time by an adult (over 18yrs).
- The inflatable will come with 2 mats, please ensure these are left where our Team have placed them on set up.
- If you have hired a Ball Pit please make sure the balls are returned to their draw string bag. Failure to return them to their bag will result in a £20 charge.
- Please ensure that all Equipment is returned. We reserve the right to charge for any missing or damaged equipment.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS....
1. How do I book?
We have a couple of options when you wish to make a booking. We have a fantastic online booking system provided to us by the Bouncy Castle Network. You can simply search our items for hire, check its availability and click on the book now button to be taken through to the booking system. It couldn't be simpler! Failing that you can also contact 02380 000 423 if you want to go through your booking in a little more detail or if you are interested in a larger multi unit deal. Please note we will only ask the same questions as those online so where possible please book online.
2. How much notice do I need to give for a booking?
You can book anytime however we are not always available to answer should you leave things to the last minute. Ideally bookings will be processed before a minimum of 7 days before but the earlier the better as we cannot guarantee to be able to fit you in if left too late. If you wish to book within 7 days of the date required you must email us at lastminute@thebouncedepartment.co.uk. We will aim to get back to you within 24hrs with an answer as to whether we can fit you in. When emailing us please give us as much detail as possible including delivery address, delivery and collection times, delivery address, items you wish to hire etc. To give yourself the best possible chance please try to be as flexible as possible with times as we will have already organised the logistics and will therefore be aiming to book you in around the current hires.
3. What do the prices include?
All booking prices include local delivery, a small charge may need to be charged for out of area deliveries (You can check delivery charges by clicking the 'Check Availability' button below an Asset and choosing your postcode) You will also receive everything needed to inflate the castle, which will be carried out by us at no extra charge. This includes a blower, extension cable, mats, set up, inflation and collection. No Hidden Extra’s. Our prices are also inclusive of VAT.
4. When are your Inflatables available?
Our castles are available 7 days a week all year round including Bank Holidays.
5. How long do I get the equipment for?
We guarantee for you to have a minimum of 7hrs (usable time) should you wish. Additional guaranteed hours are available at £10 per hour. Please note we may require you to hold onto our equipment for longer so that it fits in with our logistics for outside hires. It is rare however that we will limit your time, it is only in the extremes during the peak seas on that we may need to enforce it.
6. Do you hire overnight?
Yes, overnight hire is fine we charge an extra £75, simply add it to your online booking.
7. How do I pay?
We'll need a 50% deposit to secure your booking which is due within 48 hrs of booking. We ask that the final balance is paid at least 14days prior to your booking. We will send an invoice which allows you to pay online via bacs transfer.
8. What if I need to cancel?
If you wish to cancel your booking The Bounce Department must be advised by email at least 14 days before the hire. We will offer to transfer your booking to another date or in the case of The Bounce Department cancelling due to poor weather conditions we will offer you a reschedule or a 50% refund or 50% Credit. Credits will be valid for 3months from the date of your original hire. Cancellations within 14 days will result in no refund nor offer of rescheduling being offered.
9. What if it rains or is windy?
Whilst most of our Inflatables have a built in Rain cover making them usable in the rain; it is important to note that when the equipment does get wet it will become slippery and therefore increase the possibility of injury to users. In such cases the equipment should NOT be used and any use of the equipment and any injuries resulting from using the equipment is the responsibility of the Customer.
When there are high winds/bad weather then the users should be removed from the inflatable. The industry recommends a maximum wind speed of Force 5 on the Beaufort scale of 19-24 mph. In the event of wind conditions reaching Force 5 (19-24 mph) all users must leave the inflatable and all electrical equipment must be turned off from the mains, by a responsible adult.
We reserve the right to cancel any booking if the weather conditions are such that it is considered unsafe. If we take the decision to cancel the Hire due to excessive rain we will suggest you to source an indoor venue (please contact us to discuss timing options before finalising any indoor bookings)or offer to reschedule your booking to another date of your choice or a 50% refund or a 50% credit.

10. Can the inflatable be set up on Tarmac or Artificial Turf?
Unfortunately we cannot set up our inflatables on any Hard standing ground or Artificial Turf. To do so would invalidate our insurance and go against the guidelines for good practice that govern everything we do.
11. Obstructions
Please make sure obstructions such as all dog do-do's, swings, slides, patio furniture, rubbish etc are removed before the castle arrives. At busy times we may be unable to wait for the area to be cleared due to other hires and events and may have to refuse the delivery. This would result in no refund or reschedule being offered.
12. Do you have Public Liability Insurance?
We are fully insured for £10 million public liability. Please email hello@thebouncedepartment.co.uk to ask for a copy.
13. Is all of your electrical equipment PAT tested?
Yes, any items that are under a year old are covered under Manufacturers warranty and therefore will not be PAT tested. Anything over 1year old will be PAT tested.
14. Loss of Equipment Whilst on Hire
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the safekeeping of any equipment hired from us. In the unfortunate event that any of the equipment is lost during the hire period, the customer will be held liable for its replacement. It is important to note that this includes any loss due to theft, damage, or negligence while in the customer's possession. Therefore, we advise all customers to take adequate measures to protect the equipment during the hire period to avoid any unnecessary replacement costs. We reserve the right to charge the Customer card held on file with cost of replacement or repair.
15. Are my requested times guaranteed and how long does it take to set up/pack up an inflatable?
Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee the times you request on your booking form but will always do our best to get as close as possible. 9.5 times out of 10 we do get within 30 minutes of your requested times but with busy seasons, lots of bookings and lots of people wanting similar timings this is not always possible.
If we are too far out we will always contact you firstly to make a plan but we are unable to guarantee any timings sadly which we hope you understand. Of course this is increasingly difficult with Hall Hires but we will always go the extra mile to make things happen with a minimum of stress.
The average bouncy castle takes approximately 15-20 minutes to set up and about the same to pack away. Please note that larger inflatables and multiple items will take slightly longer.
If you would like to view our Terms & Conditions please email hello@thebouncedepartment.co.uk and we'll be happy to provide you with a copy.
16. What do I do if my inflatable starts to deflate?
Firstly make sure everyone gets off the inflatable immediately. Then check that the blower hasn’t detached from the inflatable & make sure everything is plugged in to the electrics. That should solve the problem. If the blowers are no longer turning on and you have added any other electrical items to the power source there is a chance you may have blown the fuse. Please remove said item, replace the fuse and try again.
17. WHAT IF YOU TURN UP TO A HIRE AND ARE UNABLE TO FULFILL THE BOOKING?
If we turn up to a Hire and are unable to fulfil the booking due to circumstances out of our control (eg: poor access, insufficient power, poor conditions of set up area) our drivers will have to refuse the delivery.
If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to email hello@thebouncedepartment.co.uk
